Stuck at Home Photography
When you are outside of your home with a camera, you always click something. As a photography hobbyist, I do the same. It doesn't matter if you have a DSLR, a point-and-shoot or a smartphone with decent camera, outdoor photography is great. You get lot of open space and in day time, you get plenty of light. And variation of subjects can be vast.
But, it is not possible to go outside everytime. Because of harsh summer or continuous rain, sometimes you are forced to stay home. However your photography soul want to capture something. But you find nothing to capture. Well, that's not accurate. There are plenty of things you can shoot at home. Take a look at the list below.
1. Babies
If you have baby(ies) in the house, then you don't have to worry about "What should I capture". Babies are a great photography subject. They are adorable. And always photogenic. You don't have to make them pose or create a special environment around them. Just let them play and shoot photos without their attention (Well, that's tricky, but give it a try). Capture the cuteness with exuberance. Or try to freeze the moment.
2. Food
If anyone in your family does great cooking, then show your creativity by snapping it. Nicely arrange the dish and click from above or at an angle. If you can't wait until the dish is prepared, then take some fruits or vegetables, arrange some simple backdrop and start clicking. Try to keep it simple.

3. Toys
Again, one more benefit of having a kid in house. Kids' toys may look smaller. But when you take close-ups, it looks like a real object. Try to blend that with a background or an environment. Get innovative and have fun. But, when kids demand their stuff, give it back.
4. Portraits
All the major cameras have portrait mode nowadays. So taking a portrait photo is easy. Get your model ready (In this case, one of your family member or friend), turn on the portrait mode and start shooting. But capturing the emotion is little difficult. Background is very much important in portrait photography, as portrait photo shows person's identity and attitude. You can also create a white or black backdrop portrait depending on equipment you have.

Look around. There are plenty of objects around you. Be it a book or a tennis ball, if you have imagination power, everything is a photography subject.
6. Macros (Or Close-ups)
If you have a macro lens, you are good to go. And if you don't have one, you are good to go too. You don't need a special (read expensive) macro lens to capture a close-up of an object. Find an object, set your lens at highest focal length and get as much close as your camera can focus. Keep on thing in mind that you require lot of lights for it. If you have DSLR and a little courage (Yes, Courage), then remove the lens from front, hold it reverse against sensor and capture the super close-ups. But be careful, as the rear lens elements are exposed to environment and dust can enter in the lens.
7. Trick Photography
When I ask people to describe the above image, most of them said, "It's a nice looking car at a really beautiful location." But in reality, it's just a toy car in front of laptop screen. See the next image showing the simple setup. This is called trick photography. You can find numerous ways to create this kind of photos. Just imagine and start shooting.
8. Outdoors from indoor
Open your window. It's beautiful world outside. Don't worry, I'm not going to start some philosophy lecture here. But there's a lot of things to capture outside your window. There can be birds outside your window or a really nice architecture. Or if you are living on higher floor, you can capture the cityscape. Also, if visible, try to capture celestial objects.
Other than these, there are many more things to capture at home. Like flowers and plants in your indoor garden or shooting products using lightbox. There are endless possibilities. Note that, you have to remember only one thing. Be simple and creative.
